The Student Common Room offers you the chance to relax and play some table-top games, watch a film or listen to some music during your free time and lunch hour. You can also get involved in the Student Union and have a say in how student activities are run. The Youth Workers, based in the Common Room, provide help and support with any social issues you might have.
Our Student Link Worker can help you with such issues as healthy eating, bullying, sexual health, attendance and housing. Events that deal with these areas are organised from time to time in the College. The Student Link Worker can be found in the Progression Centre.
Connexions Personal Advisers offer support for young people between 13 and 19 (up to 25 if the young person is disabled) with issues such as housing, finance, drugs, relationships and attendance.
The Counsellor/Mental Health Worker sees students about a wide range of emotional issues that may include stress, depression or family relationships. Counselling offers a space to explore problems with someone who is trained to listen in a supportive way, in order to work through current problems and learn techniques to be able to cope in difficult situations.
