The EFL department at Southgate College in North London, welcomes learners from all over the world who want to improve their English.  We offer a wide range of full and part time language courses at all levels, from beginners to advanced. The courses provide learners with the opportunity to develop their communication, accuracy and fluency.

There are a variety of course options to choose from and you can study for as little as two weeks or as long as a year. You can also choose how many hours you want to study per week. (see  timetable).

We also offer continuous enrolment, so you can start a class whenever you want. Enrolment sessions take place every Tuesday morning at 9.30 and Wednesday afternoon at 1.30. Your language level will be assessed so that we can place you in the right class. Please bring your passport/national identity card.  If you are not able to attend these sessions please contact  english@southgate.ac.uk.

Southgate College is a Cambridge ESOL exam centre and all learners on a course have the opportunity to take an internationally recognised exam.

The maximum class size is 20.

1 academic year:  £4000.00
6 months: £2667.00

Intensive courses of 16 hours, based on our full programme, are £112.00 per week (minimum 2 weeks). Part-time fees (see part time prospectus).

The EFL department at Southgate College offers a social programme for learners e.g. trips round London, visits to galleries and museums and end of term parties.

The EFL department is accredited by the British Council and is a member of English UK.

The British Council inspected and accredited Southgate College in April 2010.
The English language teaching department of this college of further education offers courses in general English for adults.

Points of excellence were noted in aspects of general management, self-access facilities, teachers’ qualifications, academic management, learner training, and teaching.
The inspection report stated that the organisation met the standards of the Scheme.
