To enhance your organisation's productivity, your employees need to have the excellent written, verbal and numeracy skills necessary to carry out their job role effectively and efficiently.
Staff who do not have English as their first language often struggle with many of the communication skills required in the workplace. Spoken communication - with both colleagues and customers - can be difficult and, at times, embarrassing when pronunciation is misunderstood. Written communication becomes difficult when English has not been learnt as a first language.
Southgate College is able to help employees overcome these difficulties with a range of flexible, vocationally focused courses designed to meet the needs of your organisation. Training is available in reading, writing, language and literacy.
Benefits of this training to an organisation include:
- More accurate paperwork
- Improved internal and external communication
- Reduced staff absenteeism
Training can be offered at the College or, alternatively, within your workplace for groups of staff. The College has developed bespoke, sector-based short courses in English for staff working in areas such as Construction, Hospitality and the Health sector.
